At the Crown

A Distant City had a gig at the Crown last night. Was the first one for a while and was fun to get out and hear them again. I even took a couple of friends to experience the soundscapes :)

Thoughtful and the Mighty Heart

I had the best day today. I went to the Attic to film Thoughtful and the Mighty Heart for their Rock Quest video. The venue was amazing.

OUSA battle of the bands

I stayed up late last night - real late for me. But it was worth it. A Distant City played in the finals of the OUSA battle of the bands and they won! It was the best I have ever heard them play and in the dark at 1am in the morning it was okay for a mum to scream and jump up and down when the winners were announced.

The day was too nice to be inside for band practice, so today's practice was held at the bottom of the garden.

A Distant City was featured in the Otago Daily Times >>

Rock

I really like the lighting effect on this photo. The band were playing in a venue on the university campus during the day time. The windows were covered with black curtains with tears through them, a lot of the lighting was sunlight sneaking through. It made for some fun shots.

Gunslinger had their EP release gig last night at Musos Club in Dunedin. They had a really good turn out and the place was almost filled to capacity. It was a really good night and the band were buzzing.

Rock for Christchurch

The kids from Otago Girls and Otago Boys High School put on a 'Rock for Christchurch' charity gig tonight. From a rough estimate of the crowd they raised well over $1000. Gunslinger reclaimed the stage where they won Battle of the Bands 2010.

Gunslinger

Well I think I can officially say, I haven't nailed this 365 day challenge thing. But I am trying to post photos when I get the chance. Today's photo is of three of the members of Gunslinger. Two of them being my talented sons. Gunslinger won the OBHS Battle of the Bands and this is a photo of them playing a gig at the Dunedin Muso's Club.
