Deborah's Chair

One of the best things about coming back to Perth is catching up with Deb. We went for our Sunday walk around the bridges. We had planned to take this photo at Christmas but were talking too much that we missed the chair. So here it is now.

Infinite possibilities

The waterside in Wellington is just beautiful. Every inch begs for a different type of photo. What I love about this photo is it makes me imagine. I can imagine the different types of people who might sit on these seats and gaze out to sea. The young man in turmoil trying to work out his life, the old woman who remembers, the couples in love ... me.

A place to watch the world go by

Harbour chair

On Sunday I went for a walk around the harbour, there is now a nice walking track down past the new stadium and along the water. The weather was stunning (a bit cold though).

Ross Creek duck pond

I was a good girl today and went for a walk instead of a run, since everyone in a medical capacity seems to be telling me not to run. I may listen for a little while. Anyway, the ducks were enjoying their pond.

Chair on the Swan River

A beautiful early morning walk around the Swan River. I love how the twinkles in the water danced towards this chair.

Chair thing take 2

I wasn't that happy with the photo I took yesterday on my iPhone so I went back today with the DSLR to have another go. I like this a bit better.

Embracing the chair thing

I have decided to embrace my need for photographing chairs and play with the idea. This is a playground in St Clair.

St Clair Beach run

I have a new favourite route for my daily run. Now that the sun is shining and Dunedin is so stunning, it is a real treat to run down to St Clair Beach, enjoy the sights and sounds and then return home.

A nice seat in the sun

I love the view from Eglinton Road down over the harbour. It always looks different. Especially lovely on a sunny day.

Duck pond

A nice spot to sit when the sun is shining. A chair by the pond at the Dunedin Botanical Gardens.

Portland Hotel, Wellington

Our 'home away from home' in Wellington is the Portland Kingsgate Hotel. The back room has often served as the unofficial CORE office, which is handy for when the day finishes and it is time for night time refreshments.

Rose garden

This chair is placed in the middle of the rose garden in the Dunedin Botanical Gardens. The chair is empty, as are the plants, all waiting for the cold to end and spring to come.

Friends

I spotted these three and was reminded that not only 'birds of a feather' flock together. Diversity is to be celebrated. Now there's my deep thought for the week...

Have a seat

I was inspired by Martha's 'Have a seat' picture so I thought I would try my own variation. I really like the dappled light and autumn colours, but I haven't captured the depth of the experience as Martha has, so I will keep trying

Paris day 3

Well my last day in Paris has come along. My aim today was just to have no aim and to wander aimlessly around the streets. This was a treat. In the morning I found a street - Rue de mouffetard, which was the quaint, romantic little Parisian street of my imagination. There were beautiful little shops and street markets with people walking around with baskets full of bread sticks. I thought I would take photos today of things that were iconic for me while in Paris. The first photo above depicts the bikes that are available all over Paris. Apparently people pay a yearly fee and they can use their card to unlock a bike from any location and ride it to another.

While I was out wandering, I heard the sound of Jazz music and went to investigate. These two were playing their music in the middle of one of the bridges across the Seine. It was a magical experience.
I took this photo of the chairs because, as someone living in NZ or Australia we are used to our space. All the cafes have the chairs crammed next to one another with no personal space at all. It is also interesting how they line them up outside the cafe and people sit in a line with their coffee or wine watching the world go past.
I had to take a last photo of the Eiffel Tower...

And lastly, my last glass of wine before heading to the Gare de Nord to catch the Eurostar to London... A very tasty bordeaux.

Chair and table - 365/60

After having a 'photographer's block', I walked around my house looking for something inspiring to shoot. I even lay on the ground to get a different perspective, however the cobwebs on my ceiling weren't even inspiring. I did find this shot though, which is the back of a chair and the edge of a table. I quite liked the shapes and the orangey colour.
